YouTube, Facebook and Twitch accounts

With an account connected, StreamPort creates the broadcast when you go live, fills in the title, ends it when you stop, shows viewer counts and brings chat into the app. Studio plan.

Each platform requires you to create a small developer app. This keeps your credentials private on your Mac and means StreamPort never sees your password. It takes about ten minutes per platform, once.

YouTube

  1. In the Google Cloud Console create a project and enable YouTube Data API v3.
  2. Configure the OAuth consent screen. While it is in Testing, add your Google account as a test user.
  3. Create an OAuth client ID of type Desktop app.
  4. In StreamPort: Settings → Accounts → YouTube, paste the client ID and secret, then Connect.

Your channel must be enabled for live streaming (YouTube can take up to 24 hours to enable it the first time).

Facebook

  1. Create an app at developers.facebook.com and add Facebook Login.
  2. Set the valid OAuth redirect URL to http://127.0.0.1:53682/callback.
  3. Paste the App ID and secret in Settings → Accounts → Facebook and Connect.

Going live through the API needs the publish_video permission. It works for you as the app’s admin or tester. Other people using the same app need Meta’s App Review, so most people use their own app.

Twitch

  1. Register an application at dev.twitch.tv/console with Client Type Public and redirect URL http://localhost.
  2. Paste the client ID in Settings → Accounts → Twitch and press Connect.
  3. Enter the code shown at twitch.tv/activate.

Use it

In Settings → Destinations switch on Create the broadcast automatically for that destination and fill in the title. At Go Live you can change the title for all platforms at once.
