StreamPort Cloud
With Cloud on, StreamPort uploads one copy of your stream to our servers and they send it to every destination. Three destinations at 6 Mbps would normally need 18 Mbps of upload from your Mac; with Cloud you need 6.
Turn it on
- Sign in or activate your Studio licence (Settings → License).
- In Settings → Destinations, switch on Send through StreamPort Cloud.
- Add your destinations as usual and press Go Live. Destination cards say “Via StreamPort Cloud”.
Re-encoded and vertical outputs still go straight from your Mac, because the cloud passes streams through unchanged. If the cloud can't be reached, StreamPort sends directly so the show still goes out.
Pre-recorded streams
In Settings → Cloud upload a video, pick a start time and press Schedule. At that time the cloud plays it to your destinations as if it were live, even with your Mac switched off. Videos in H.264 with AAC sound play unchanged; other formats are converted to 720p. Streams that create an automatic broadcast (YouTube, Facebook or Twitch accounts) are not supported for pre-recorded streams yet; use stream keys.
Hours and storage
The Studio plan includes 40 hours of Cloud streaming a month and 10 GB of video storage. Settings → Cloud shows what you have used. At 80% you get an email; when the hours run out the cloud stops and StreamPort sends directly instead.
Alerts
If a destination stays unreachable for a minute while you are live, you get an email, and another when it recovers.
Privacy and security
Your stream key to the cloud is sent over an encrypted connection (RTMPS). Destination stream keys are encrypted on our servers and are never shown again. Streams are relayed live and not recorded.
