Reliability and recording

Auto-reconnect

If a destination drops, StreamPort retries on its own: after 1 second, then 2, 4, 8 and so on up to 30 seconds. The other destinations keep streaming. The card shows Reconnecting with a countdown. If six attempts fail within seconds each, StreamPort stops and shows Failed, which almost always means a wrong stream key or server URL.

When your source disappears

Destinations wait and resume as soon as the source returns. With the backup slate (Solo+) enabled in Settings → Backup, a “be right back” screen takes over after a delay you choose, and StreamPort switches back when the source reconnects. Platforms see a short reconnect at each switch.

Health stats

Each live destination shows bitrate, frame rate, dropped frames and a bandwidth graph. A warning appears if encoding runs slower than real time. The header shows total upload.

Crash recovery

If StreamPort or your Mac stops unexpectedly while you’re live, the next launch offers Resume streaming. Quitting while live asks for confirmation first.

Recording

Settings → Recording: record every stream to MKV (safest) or MP4, with no re-encode. Split files every 15, 30 or 60 minutes (Solo+). Studio adds an audio-only .m4a file alongside. The Record button on the main screen starts and stops a recording any time.

Automation

Settings → Automation: go live automatically when the source connects, end the stream if the source stays gone for a set time, and schedule streams (the app must be open).
